My Story
Like a lot of moms, my dream was always to raise my kids myself. I’m not here to judge anyone who works outside the home — that’s what’s right for so many families. For us, being home with my children just felt like the best fit.
The truth is, though, one income wasn’t enough. My work‑from‑home journey actually started while I was pregnant with my son. I’d worked hard to move into a remote role at my company and thought everything was finally falling into place… until two weeks before he was born, when they announced that work‑from‑home roles were ending and everyone had to go back into the office.
I was heartbroken, but I was also determined. That pushed me to dig into real ways to work from home. And what I quickly learned was that for every legit opportunity out there, there are many scams waiting to take your time and money.
Over the years I’ve learned how to spot the red flags, find honest opportunities, and build income from home while still being present with my family.
I’ve always been naturally frugal. Couponing (yes, I used to be an extreme couponer), deal hunting, and stretching every dollar have always come naturally to me, so saving and making money from home became a mission.

I’m a woman of faith, a wife, a mom, and an entrepreneur who runs on coffee, meaningful conversations, and the never‑ending journey of trying to get a little healthier. My faith is the foundation of everything I do. It reminds me that God is faithful, even when the path isn’t what I expected, and that being a good steward of our time, talents, and money is part of honoring Him.
I’ve spent more than a decade working from home through both traditional remote jobs and side hustles. I’ve seen what truly works, what doesn’t, and what looks great in theory but just doesn’t hold up in real life. I’ve also been running my blog, The Frugal Work‑at‑Home Mom (now At Home with Traci), for over ten years. Everything I share comes from research, personal experience, or things I’ve tested myself.

When I first started blogging, I didn’t even know it was possible to make money doing it. I just wanted to share legitimate work‑from‑home jobs with other moms so they wouldn’t fall for scams.
