Traci holding a cup of coffee for National Coffee Day Deals 2026

If you love coffee, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, is a pretty good day to grab a cup.

It’s National Coffee Day, and several coffee shops and retailers are celebrating with free coffee, 25-cent coffee, discounts, and other coffee-related deals.

Since I’m always looking for ways to save money, I went through the National Coffee Day promotions and pulled together some of the free and cheap coffee deals worth checking out.

And I’ve separated the deals so you can quickly see which ones are completely free, which ones are inexpensive, and which ones require a purchase.

Free Coffee With No Purchase

If you’re looking for the deals where you don’t have to buy something else first, start here.

Scooter’s Coffee: Free Medium Brewed Coffee

This is one of the best deals I found because you don’t have to purchase anything else.

From September 27 through September 29, Scooter’s Coffee is offering a free medium brewed coffee through its mobile app.

And there’s an extra bonus: you can redeem the offer once per guest, per day during the three-day promotion.

So if you’re able to visit a Scooter’s location on each of those days, that’s potentially three free coffees.

The offer is available at Scooter’s Coffee locations nationwide and must be redeemed through the Scooter’s Coffee mobile app. No additional purchase is required.

Aroma Joe’s: Free 16-Ounce Coffee

Aroma Joe’s is offering a free 16-ounce hot or iced coffee from September 29 through October 5 at participating locations.

If you’re an AJ’s Rewards member, you’ll get upgraded to a free 24-ounce hot or iced coffee.

The offer is valid for one redemption and is available while supplies last. Espresso drinks and cold brew are excluded.

Circle K: Free Coffee

Circle K Inner Circle Rewards members can get a free cup of coffee through the Circle K app on September 29. Check the app for the offer and participating locations.

Whataburger: Free 16-Ounce Coffee

Whataburger is offering a free 16-ounce hot or iced coffee on September 29. Check the Whataburger app for the current offer and participating locations.

Jeff’s Bagel Run: Free Coffee

Jeff’s Bagel Run is offering a free hot or iced coffee all day on September 29. Availability may vary by location, so check with your local shop before heading out.

Pinkbox Doughnuts: Free Coffee

Pinkbox Doughnuts Perks members can get a free premium drip coffee with no purchase required on September 29. Members can also get 50% off one specialty coffee drink.

Pilot: Free Any-Size Hot Coffee

If you’re traveling on September 29, keep this one in mind.

Pilot is offering a free any-size hot coffee on National Coffee Day.

The offer is available through the Pilot app at participating travel centers.

So if you’re already making a stop at Pilot, this could be an easy way to save a few dollars on your coffee.

Cheap Coffee Deals

Sometimes the best deal isn’t necessarily a free coffee.

If you don’t want to make a purchase just to get a free drink, paying a few cents for your coffee can actually be a better deal.

Peet’s Coffee: 25-Cent Medium Coffee

This one definitely caught my attention.

On Tuesday, September 29, Peet’s Coffee is offering a medium drip coffee for just 25 cents at its coffeebars.

Yes, 25 cents.

That’s a pretty inexpensive way to celebrate National Coffee Day without spending the usual several dollars on a cup of coffee.

Free Coffee With a Purchase

These deals aren’t completely free because you’ll need to purchase something else, but they can still be worthwhile if you’re already planning to grab breakfast or a treat.

Dunkin’: Free Medium Coffee With Any Purchase

Dunkin’ Rewards members can get a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on National Coffee Day.

The offer is available through the Dunkin’ app at participating locations.

There are some restrictions, including a limit of one per order per day, and specialty beverages such as Nitro Cold Brew and Cold Brew are excluded.

So if you’re already planning to stop at Dunkin’ for breakfast, this could be an easy way to get your coffee without paying extra for it.

Krispy Kreme: Free Coffee With Any Purchase

Krispy Kreme is offering a free small or medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on September 29 at participating locations.

There’s a limit of one free coffee per guest, and the offer is available in-store only.

And Krispy Kreme has another National Coffee Day promotion that caught my eye.

From September 26 through September 29, you can get a dozen of its limited-time Original Glazed Coffee Flavored Doughnuts for $5 when you purchase any dozen at regular price at participating shops.

So if you’re already planning a doughnut run, you have a couple of different ways to celebrate.

Caribou Coffee: Free Medium Coffee or Cold Brew

At participating Caribou Coffee locations, you can get a free medium hot coffee or cold brew with the purchase of any beverage on September 29.

The offer is available to both Caribou Perks members and non-members, so you don’t have to sign up for the rewards program to take advantage of it.

PJ’s Coffee: Free Coffee With Food Purchase

PJ’s Coffee is offering a free 12-ounce hot coffee or 16-ounce cold brew with any in-store food purchase on September 29.

Paris Baguette: Free Coffee With Any Purchase

Paris Baguette is offering a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on September 29. Check with your local location for participation.

Another Coffee Freebie to Check Out

Smoothie King: Free Coffee Smoothie

This one is a little different because you’re not getting a traditional cup of coffee.

Healthy Rewards members can get a free 12-ounce Coffee High Protein Almond Mocha Smoothie on September 28 and 29 at participating Smoothie King locations nationwide.

So if you like the taste of coffee but want something a little different, this could be worth checking out.

Coffee Deals You Can Enjoy at Home

You don’t have to leave the house to take advantage of National Coffee Day.

If you’re trying to save money on your regular coffee habit, buying something for your home coffee setup may make more sense than spending money on coffee shop drinks throughout the week.

Keurig: 25% Off Select Coffee Makers and Drinkware

Keurig is offering 25% off select coffee makers and drinkware accessories through September 29.

Use code CELEBRATECOFFEE at checkout.

The promotion is available on Keurig.com and through the Keurig app and runs through 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on September 29. Some products, bundles, and other exclusions apply.

If you’ve been thinking about replacing your coffee maker or upgrading your setup, this could be a good time to check the sale.

How to Make the Most of National Coffee Day

Before you head out for your free coffee, there are a few things I’d keep in mind.

Check the app first. Some of these deals require you to have an account or save an offer before you get to the register.

Check the location. Many promotions are only available at participating locations.

Pay attention to purchase requirements. A free coffee with a purchase can be a great deal if you were already planning to buy breakfast. But if you’re spending $8 just to get a free coffee, you aren’t necessarily saving money.

And don’t forget to look at the actual price of the coffee.

For example, 25-cent coffee at Peet’s could make more sense for someone who simply wants an inexpensive cup than a “free” coffee that requires buying something else.

What About Starbucks and Other Coffee Shops?

If your favorite coffee shop isn’t on this list, it’s still worth checking its app or website before heading out on September 29.

National Coffee Day promotions can vary by brand and location, and some businesses may offer app-exclusive or rewards-member promotions rather than a nationwide free-coffee deal.

I wanted to focus this list on promotions I could find current information for rather than adding a bunch of coffee shops just to make the list longer.

Final Thoughts

National Coffee Day is a fun excuse to enjoy your favorite coffee, but I think it’s even better when you can do it without spending your usual coffee-shop price.

Whether you grab a free coffee from Scooter’s or Pilot, pay just 25 cents at Peet’s, take advantage of a free coffee with a purchase, or find a deal for your coffee setup at home, there are several ways to celebrate September 29 while keeping a little more money in your wallet.

And honestly, I’ll take a good coffee deal whenever I can get one!

Deals, participating locations, and availability can change. Check the individual company’s app or website before visiting to confirm the current offer and any restrictions.
