If you’re looking for an easy fall dessert, this two-ingredient pumpkin spice cake is definitely worth trying. I had been wanting to make a pumpkin cake, and this one was so simple to put together.

The basic recipe only calls for a box of spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin, but I wanted mine to be extra moist, so I added an egg and some water. I topped it with a simple powdered sugar glaze, and it turned out absolutely delicious. It was so good that I’ll definitely be making it again!

More Topping Ideas for This Pumpkin Spice Cake

Several other people commented on my videos with suggestions for different ways to top or change up this pumpkin spice cake. Some suggested making a cream cheese frosting or a maple glaze. Another idea was to mix cream cheese with maple syrup and pumpkin spice for a different topping. Someone also suggested decorating the cake with halved walnuts and sprinkling turbinado sugar on top before baking. You could also mix in chocolate chips, raisins, or Craisins for a little something extra. I haven’t tried all of these ideas myself, but they sound like fun ways to make this simple cake your own.
